The ACIP has unanimously voted to recommend the Pfizer Vaccination for Children aged 5-11. Local pediatricians and pharmacies have pediatric doses on hand and can schedule appointments for those that prefer to go to the clinic and not a mass clinic. Please note the pediatric vaccine is different than the 12+ formulation.

Moderna and J&J Booster doses have been approved

As of October 21, 2021 the CDC has made the following recommendations for booster doses:

For individuals who received a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at 6 months or more after their initial series:

For the nearly 15 million people who got the J& J COVID-19 vaccine, booster shots are also recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago.

  • UCHealth (Moderna & Pfizer) is now offering online self-scheduling for those seeking a COVID-19 vaccination.

    To find available appointments, please use My Health Connection.

  • Click on the store links to set up appointments directly at these approved providers:

  • Call Lyons Drug (Pfizer, Moderna & J&J) at . Walk-ins only M-Sat 9am-7pm.

  • Call South Routt Medical Center (Moderna & Pfizer) at for an appointment.

  • Call Northwest Colorado Health (Moderna & Pfizer) at for an appointment. Physician visit is required for new patients.

  • Call Steamboat Spring Family Medicine (Moderna and Pfizer) at for an appointment or sign up on their website.

  • Call Yampa Valley Medical Associates (Moderna, Pfizer and J&J) at for an appointment. At this time appointments are limited to current patients.

  • Call Pediatrics of Steamboat (Pfizer) at or for an appointments in Steamboat and Hayden.

Vaccine Information

Vaccine Distribution:

  • Pfizer is approved for individuals 5 years of age and older. The Moderna and J&J vaccines are approved for individuals 18 and older.

  • You are fully vaccinated 14 days after your second shot (for Moderna and Pfizer and one shot of J&J/Janssen)

  • You do not have to quarantine if you are vaccinated however you should still monitor yourself for symptoms, wear a mask in indoor public spaces, and get tested if necessary.
